Mount Abu, the only hill station of Rajasthan, situated at the highest peak of the Aravali at an altitude of 1220 meters. There is a mythological story about the origin of Mount Abu. The story is that Abu rescued the sacred bull Nandi here and therefore the place got its name. Mount Abu was the home of many saints and sages in the old days. Legend has it that all the 330 million gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon used to visit this holy mountain. It is also the place where the great saint Vashishth lived and performed a yagna (sacrificial worship on a fire pit) to create four Agnikula (four clans of fire) to protect the earth from demons. Its pleasant climate & picturesque setting attract tourists from all over the country. It is also famous for 11th century Dilwara Jain Temple. Nakki Lake is one of the main attractions of Mount Abu .

Summer Festival: The Summer Festival is held every year in the month of June. Mount Abu is the ideal location for this festival. This three day festival begins with the singing of a ballad, which is followed by Gair, Ghoomar and Daph folk dances. The boat race on the Nakki Lake is one of the major attractions of this festival.
Tourist Places Of Mount Abu
Gaumukh Temple: It is a beautifully sculpted hill temple of Arbuada. Temple of Vashishtha, and a fire pit, where Agnikula Rajputs are also said to have been created, are a quite old and interesting site here.
Dilwara Jain Temples: Built between 11th & 13th century, these world famous temples are famous for their beautiful carvings in marble. These temples are dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras. Built in 1031 A.D., The Vimal Vasahi temple is the oldest of these temples dedicated to the first Tirthankara.
Nakki Lake: The popular tourist spot, is said to have been dug by the God themselves with their nails. The lake is surrounded by the hills and parks.
Shri Raghunathji Temple: Dedicated to Shri Raghunathji, the temple is situated near Nakki Lake.
